A Biographical Note

Babak Moshiri was born in Tehran. He started composing music in his early teens and at the age of 16 became interested in rock music. Later on, he began to make themes and lyrics many of which are not released yet.

In 1996 he made the first compositions on poems of his father, Fereydoon Moshiri, the renowned contemporary poet of Iran. Some of these songs appear in the first album, Labreez, released in 2001.

Two main features in these works are the fresh inspiration taken from magnificent Persian poetry , and the strong presence of social themes.

A major part of his forthcoming album is rooted in the years of studying architecture in the early 80s, along with some newer compositions. The central theme in this album is the solitude of bewildered man in today's city life. Burnt Ground is being recorded and is expected to be released in 2005.
